Important Information

Guests arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday are required to contact Gasthaus Sonne Neuhäusle in advance to arrange arrival.

Please note that from 01 November until 30 April, the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Area Information

St. Märgen lies just 5 minutes from here and offers tennis courts and a swimming pool within the forest. Hiking, cycling and riding are all possible - you are sure to be impressed by the many well-built paths in the area.

In just 30 minutes you can reach Mount Feldberg or Freiburg with its attractive shops, while the theme park Europapark Rust is just a 50-minute journey away. Alternatively, you may wish to visit the famous ski jump at Hinterzarten which lies 15 minutes away.

Travel Information

By plane:
Nearest airports: Basel and Zürich. The guesthouse can be reached in one hour from either airport.

By rail:
Travel to Freiburg, and from there travel through the romantic Höllental valley until you reach Hinterzarten. We would be happy to pick you up from here, but there is also a bus connection. A bus stop lies right outside our guesthouse.

By car:
You reach us via the A81 motorway Stuttgart/Singen, Donaueschingen or via the A5 motorway Karlsruhe /Basel, Freiburg.

Food & Beverage

Our "Schwarzwaldstube" offers a friendly, warm atmosphere and personal service. Classic dishes of the Baden region are served alongside refined, creative cuisine. We attach great importance to the use of fresh, regional produce.

Our restaurant is open from 08:00 through to 22:00. Sweeten your day by sampling our homemade cakes and speciality coffees in the afternoon.

Hotel Information

Our love of horses inspired us to establish our own riding stables where we breed horses. Several well-behaved Haflinger horses are waiting to be groomed, saddled, ridden and petted here!

Riding lessons, excursions or simply first encounters with horses can be organised here. The manager himself invites you to go for a trip by horse-drawn carriage.
